Alkida is no stranger to Walsh LLP, having begun her journey with the firm in 2022 as a
legal assistant. She earned her Juris doctor with Distinction from the University of
Saskatchewan and returned to the firm as a Student-at-Law, bringing with her a strong
academic foundation and practical experience. Having progressed from support staff to
aspiring lawyer, Alkida brings a unique perspective, a strong work ethic and genuine
appreciation for the legal profession.
During law school, Alkida developed a particular passion for oral advocacy and
litigation. In 2025, she completed in the Laskin Moot in Montreal, a bilingual moot court
competition focused on administrative and constitutional law. Alkida and her moot
partner were awarded Second Place Team after presenting submissions before the
Honourable Nicholas Kasirer of the Supreme Court of Canada. Alkida was also
recognized individually as the Third Place Oralist.
Beyond academics, Alkida was deeply involved in community engagement and
mentorship through Pro Bono Students Canada. As Project Lead for the Becoming a
Lawyer Project, in collaboration with Public Legal Education Association of
Saskatchewan, she worked to encourage young people from diverse backgrounds to
consider carers in law to promote greater accessibility within the profession. In
recognition of her contributions, she received the 2025 Cam Partridge Memorial
Volunteer of the Year award.
Alkida’s legal education also took her beyond Canada’s borders. During her final year of
law school, she studied abroad in Budapest, Hungary, where she explored international
and European legal systems while gaining a broader perspective on the role of law
across cultures and jurisdiction.
Outside the office, Alkida enjoys travelling whenever and wherever she can, attending
country music concerts and getting lost in a good book. Whether exploring a new city or
tackling a new legal challenge, she approaches every experience with curiosity and the
desire to keep learning.
