Ken is a Senior Counsel at Walsh LLP who practices in the area of Civil and Commercial Litigation.

Ken’s practice focuses on mediation, arbitration and estates matters.
With 40+ years practicing commercial and civil litigation, Ken has seen a lot. His
experience resolving disputes with a wide and complex range of clients and matters in
all levels of Alberta and Federal courts now allows him to focus on delivering results as
a trusted mediator and arbitrator. In keeping his extensive litigation skills current, Ken
will also continue his Estates Practice (Administration, Litigation and Alternative Dispute
Resolution).

Ken has considerable experience in achieving successful outcomes in both mediation
and arbitration. His involvement in such matters has included everything from landlord
and tenant disputes, estate litigation, employment matters, through to resolving complex
corporate-commercial disputes. Ken is prepared to utilize his expertise to assist in
resolving a broad range of disputes.

Originally from Edmonton, Ken relocated to Calgary at age 7, well before forming any
sports allegiances to the north. He has seen Calgary grow from a city of 330,000 when
he arrived, to the city of 1.6 million that it is today. As an active member of the Calgary
business community for over 40 years Ken and the clients he has supported have been
active participants in contributing to that amazing growth.

With experience, a lawyer is always learning and developing skills. One of the skills
that Ken values most highly is his ability to assist and mentor colleagues to help them
grow and achieve their full potential. This has made Ken an accomplished active
listener and valued mentor who is not afraid to be decisive, while also understanding the
need to be firm, fair and balanced in making or assisting others in reaching decisions.
As for sports, Ken devotes his spectator loyalty to the Calgary Flames and the Seattle
Seahawks. He’s also prepared to wager wrongly on any of the golf majors, being a
determined golfer whose game is very much a work in progress.

Ken stays active with hiking, travel, and three grandchildren to chase after.
